Movie Review: Jhoom Barabar Jhoom

Every once in a while comes a film that you watch with zero expectations,n end up being pleasantly surprised...unfortunately,JBJ is not one of them...it is quite easily one of the worst movies running right now in theatres....{why,oh why,did i not go for 'jabardast',starring old VB-ite Pushkar Jog :-( }...the movie is saddled with one of the most pointless stories, and combining that with its near-rotten screenplay, what you end up with is total n utter CRAP. Shaad Ali,(director of Saathiya,a film that i hold very dear to me heart),who i thought couldnt go worse than that other ridiculous pile of crap 'Bunty aur Babli',has shockingly managed to outdo himself...he has been credited with its story...whether he actually wrote it,or whether the original writer didnt want to run the risk of being blacklisted from every other respected producer and directors list,we will never know...the movie has been shot reasonably well, with every frame being full of colour, but it isnt outstanding or anything...besides,no amount of technique can salvage a bad script...the performances in the film range from mediocre (Abhishek),to downright hamming (again,Abhishek)... people who hail him as this great new find of indian cinema shud run a reality check...the talent is there,no doubt...he has shown it in yuva...but as i've always believed, with the right amount of hardwork, anyone can put in a decent performance... of the rest of the cast, bobby has a small role, but he's decent...so is lara...well,her performance is decent, but her character just isn't,mouthing hindi bad words every alternate line...preity is plain average, but she looks a million bucks as always....thank goodness for her presence,or else i'd hav died halfway through...all in all, this movie fried my bheja, and i'd rather go and watch bheja fry again, instead of thinking more about this crap...i was watching a movie on the big screen after almost 4 months,a record in itself for me,and i wish i had chosen to go for Aap Ka Suroooor....well not really, but u get my drift! :-)... 1/5 for JBJ...if u like good-looking ppl,n hav nothing to do,then go for it...if u really believe in th magic of cinema, then pls skip it...

PSM Movie Tip - Awarapan, releasing on the 29th of this month will atleast be a watchable film,n might also turn out be really good...if u r wasting time in the 1st week of july, with no idea of what to do,then let Emraan Hashmi not blind u...go for awarapan....incidentally,the heroine of awarapan is also the heroine of Rajinikant's Sivaji!
